SOOOO, let’s get real deep and talk white teeth mmmkkk?? Yes, there is a genetic contributing factor, therefore everyone in my fam has somewhat white teeth, but I have also learned some tricks for my chompers over time that I think could be helpful! So, let’s dive in!
My thoughts on Crest White Strips: They have their time and place. You have to be careful with these suckers because they can be hard on your enamel and can make your teeth SUPER sensitive the week you are whitening them. For this reason, I use them sparingly. I use to go through a kit every couple of years. Recently, I have been doing a lot more photo shoots and that kinda stuff, so I use them every night for about two/three days before the shoot for some sparkly whites. I go through about one kit a year this way.
I find that overall my teeth stay pretty white, but the spaces in between can get a little yellow. Flossing everyday is gold for this. I am literally OBSESSED with flossing like I can’t miss a day or I’ll have serious anxiety (problem? – meh not to my dentist 😉 ). I love these flossers especially because they have two layers of floss and they get everything out big time! The single ones are weak sauce.
Clearly, coconut oil is all the rage to the point where I didn’t want to even list it because, if I see another article on the 1,000,000,000 best uses for coconut oil, I might drown myself in it. But, in all seriousness that ‘ish’ works. I take a tablespoon of organic cold pressed coconut oil and swish it in my mouth for about 10 minutes. The goal is 15-20 min, but I’m not there yet. This is called oil pulling. You might gag, so I apologize in advance, but you will get whiter teeth ;). #worthit It also detoxes your bod and has a mil other benefits (just throw it into Google and you’ll see what I mean 😉 ). *For you preggo and BF mama’s out there, this is a NO-NO because of the detox element, so try out the other stuff. ☺
I really think the toothpaste I use daily makes a difference too! I switched to Toms Toothpaste and haven’t looked back. I L-O-V-E it! Works just as well as the Crest 3D white one without all the ‘ish’- SCORE!
I use to use Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster for years and swore by it! It really works well! But, when I started to remove some unnatural products from my life a couple of years ago, this didn’t make the cut. So, it’s totally up to you!
You guys know I try to use products with the least amount of chemicals as much as possible, but sometimes it is avoidable and sometimes it’s not. It just comes down to practicality and mullah.
If it were up to me, I would spend a bazillion dollars trying out crazy natural products all the time. I am just waiting for the day when my husband confronts me and tells me it’s him or the Amazon account… #addict.
So I pick and choose 😉 . Balance. That is why a lot of times you will see that I will list my products and some are completely clean and made from the dirt of the earth and others not so much, but I am always striving for better! Pick and choose which works best for you!
